July 1, 2013

Sunday we set sail with Walt and Odile for our grand adventure outside and up the Washington coast.  We departed Big Eddy Marina and motored all the way through to Walker Island.  Wind was 8-15 on the nose the whole way so no sailing today!  We dound via Active Captain a great spot on on the Oregon side of Walker Island, the Columbia River Yacht Club Out Station, which is a floating dock with room for 6-8 boats.  Friendly ladies took a dock line to help us tie off in the windy chop.  A toast to a successful day ws followed by bbq dinner.  Into bed an all is well.....DOH....what is that noise?  Carl steps out of bed and into cold water.  After pumping the water out we discovered that the handle for the 'head' had been in the wrong position allowing river water to leisurely come in and fill our little shower area.  Back to bed and off to Astoria tomorrow....all is well.  pamncarl in site of the Astoria bridge.  photos to follow when I get that figured out!
