July 4th Odile displays a wonderful flag quilt that
she has made to celebrate America’s birthday.
Pam is reading a book and is just in the middle of passages that talk
about Nixon and Watergate giving rise to thoughts about what our country is
currently going through and wondering what will be different after our 2 month hiatus.
We had planned on going to Millbrook Cove at the
head of Smith Inlet for an early scoot around the outside and into Rivers Inlet
tomorrow but the ebb tide combined with the wind made for some very choppy seas
so we ducked up Boswell Inlet instead.
We had a nice little sail with our headsails only, running with the
light wind all the way to the end of the inlet and into Boswell Cove for our
anchorage.
Walt and Odile set their shrimp pot hoping to do
as well as they did last evening. Carl
tries his hand at ling cod again but no joy.
He does catch two dog fish (trash
fish in the shark family) and numerous sculpin and flounder.
Dinner is Pam’s pressure cooker fresh crab and
Odile’s warm from the stove top “pan bread” and their fresh harvested large
shrimp. Odile has sautéed them in olive
oil, butter and garlic. Bon appetite! Happy Fourth of July everyone!
